//the otc team will make every effort to operate the day with efficiency and respect for the time of all those
in attendance.

Though we will make every effort to move through events expeditiously, we cannot guarantee start and end times for specific events. The itinerary includes anticipated start times for division events as a guide.

We kindly ask that competitors are mindful to arrive on time, check in promptly, and be actively listening

to announcements throughout the day so that each event can begin

without delay.

demonstration teams will present a choreographed performance that SHOULD include a variety of ADVANCED techniques

ELIGIBILITY

  • Demonstration Teams with a minimum of 10 members and maximum of 50 members with all members making a meaningful contribution during the team's performance.

  • Each team member must participate in at least one additional individual competitive event.

rules

  • Timing:​

    • Set Up: 2 Minutes

    • Performance: 7 Minutes (Start: Team's first bow End: Team's final bow)

      • Note:​ A half-point will be deducted from overall score for every 10 seconds a performance exceeds the 7 minute time limit.  

    • Clean Up: 2 Minutes
       

  • Technical Requirements:

    • Creative Form (Full Team)​

    • Board Breaking

      • Wooden boards (Team or OTC provided) are the only valid breaking material. Must be inspected prior to performance

      • All breaks must be the doing of the breaker. Holders may not cause or aid in the breaking of the boards

    • Self-Defense

    • Equal, meaningful use of all team members
       

  • Permitted Inclusions

    • Props, costumes, and equipment​

    • Imitation weapons with no live blades

    • Concrete and bricks may be used, but may not be used as breaking material
    • Flowers and confetti may be used, but must be cleaned up within the allotted clean up time
    • ​Equal, meaningful use of all team members

    • Not Permissible: 

      • Live-bladed weapons​

      • Liquids of any kind

      • Food of any kind

      • Glitter

  • Coaching

    • Masters, coaches, and instructors may assist with music during performance 
    • Coaching/instructing may be given by a team member during performance
    • Not Permissible: 
      • Coaching/instruction from coaches and anyone not on the team

scoring

  • Judging will be based upon the following:

    • Team spirit

    • Teamwork

    • Difficulty & execution of techniques

    • Originality

    • Adherence to technical requirements

    • Adherence to time allotments
